Air dome is a new type of building that can be built in the shortest time and save building materials and operation energy consumption. It uses high-quality building fiber membrane material as the "shell" of the building. A set of intelligent mechanical and electrical equipment supplies air to the interior of the air membrane and forms a positive pressure(200-500Pa). The "shell" is supported by the air pressure difference between indoor and outdoor to form the main body of the building. There is no need for any frame or beam support indoors.
Air domes have been widely used in recreational (gymnasia), and industry (warehouses) , especially as coal warehouses.
• Wide span and super inner space: Span can be up to 160 meters without beam nor column, excellent for storage of huge volume of materials.
• Safe: Light self-weight (3kg/m2), no work at height. Good performance in areas under the influence of earthquake, strong wind and so on.
• Cost saving : Total investment is 20%~50% less than steel buildings depending on the span (the wider span, the lower unit investment).
• Quick installation: On-site installation is around 15 -30 days.
• Better working Condition: The inner pressure is 250~500Pa higher than outside, which helps the circulation speed inside the dome; Inside air is more easily controlled by the air inflation and filtering system to provide better working condition inside.

Most
aluminum smelters have their own power plants. Some of the power plants
use coal as fuel. The off-gas from smelters is always corrosive to
steel. And air dome is perfect for coal storage near smelters.
Except
for bauxite and coal, air dome can be used to store anything including
solid waste. Air dome is also widely used at port to store grains and
other material.
